King Yaya bulldozes the Baggies.
BBC African Footballer of the Year, Yaya Toure, bagged a brace on Wednesday night to send his side into 3rd place in the Premier League. The blues, desperate to remedy their away day dilemmas, enrolled onto a rehabilitation plan that began at the Hawthorns in midweek.
Edin Dzeko, who had scored 2 goals in his last 3 games against the Baggies prior to Wednesday's clash, was drafted into the side to vanquish Manuel Pellegrini's travelling blues and in the first half, that's exactly what the unsettled striker did.
City continued their recent tradition of grabbing the early goal when the Bosnian striker fed Pablo Zabaleta with a delicious through ball who then played in Sergio Aguero for his 11th league goal of the season. The crisp, relentless football the blues were playing was hypnotic and there looked to be no signs of homesickness early on.

Sergio Aguero celebrates his opener.
Having lost four times in six away games this season, Pellegrini's men knew that the one goal would not be enough. The fluidity of the football City were playing would undoubtedly present them with a number of opportunities to double their lead and midway through the first half, BBC African Footballer of the Year, Yaya Toure, expertly finished from an Aleksandar Kolarov cross.

Yaya Toure doubles Manchester City's lead.
The Ivorian's 93% pass success rate was allowing his side to press up the pitch with all the power of an unmanned train and ideas of another rocky result on the road were fading rapidly. However, the blues approached the second half complacently and took their foot off the pedal.
Steve Clarke's side began to see more of the ball and the lapses that City had seen on the road in previous games this season began to reemerge into their play. The return of Vincent Kompany, however, ensured the protection of Costel Pantillimon and City continued with their menacing counter attacking football. With 15 minutes to go, Claudio Yacob illegally ended an Aleksandar Kolarov burst into the box and the blues were awarded a penalty to put the game beyond doubt. Up stepped Yaya Toure who slotted past Myhill.
Yaya Toure slots past Myhill to make it three.
With their feet up on grins fixed on their faces, City criminally finished the game at walking pace, gifting the home side two very soft goals. Pantillimon had his defence to blame for his own goal and some slow defending from Martin Demichelis allowed Anichebe to narrow the tie with a last minute finish.
It was a tale of two halves for the blues who can not afford to allow complacency to slip into their game. An away win it was, and a good one at that, but uncertainty still surrounds our commitment away from home. However, with Vinny back in the side, confidence has been restored and homesickness will fade.
Player Ratings
Assisted and won a penalty in a defensively sound performance.
His 13th goal in 11 games set his side off on a goalscoring spree but the Argentine will have been disappointed not to take his other chances.
Creatively brilliant in the first half, providing Zabaleta with an excellent ball to put in Aguero. However, his showing in front of goal was a little worrying.
Substitutes
