Saturday's MCFC Transfer News
According to the Sunday Times, Manchester City are ready to make a "huge investment" to sign Luis Suarez from Liverpool this summer. The striker, who has scored an incredible 29 league goals this season, signed a new contract with the club last year but is still expected to consider offers from other European clubs at the end of the season.
City's director of football Txiki Begiristain is wary of the possibility of Sergio Agüero or Edin Džeko asking to leave the club in the near future and has identified the Uruguayan as the perfect replacement. The release clause in the South American's contract could make a monumental transfer viable.
The Sunday Telegraph are also on hand for some exciting gossip this morning and report that deals for FC Porto's Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando could be completed in the very near future.
The paper believe the pair will be signed for a combined price of £41m with Mangala commanding the brunt of the fee at £29m. Joleon Lescott and Martin Demichelis are expected to make way for the Frenchman.

In other news, the Mirror believe Liverpool are beating Manchester City and Monaco in the race for Real Madrid left-back Fabio Coentrao. The 26-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in January but Liverpool have emerged as favourites for the £11.5m rated full-back's signature.
