January Transfer Window: Day 22

The work of Manchester City's current manager Manuel Pellegrini has been somewhat disregarded by City's old favourite 'Bobby Manc' in an interview with BBC Sport. Despite declaring his joy at his former club's situation in the Premier League, Roberto Mancini believes City fans have him to thank for their recent success.
In the interview, the Italian said 'I'm happy that Manchester City is one of the best teams in England because I built this team'.

He added 'the players that score the goals are players that I bought - Sergio Agüero, Edin Džeko, Yaya Touré, David Silva and Samir Nasri'. Although Roberto may have forgotten about City's current top scorer Álvaro Negredo, his comments are set to cause a stir.
Talking of Negredo, the Spaniard walked into training this morning wearing a cast. The striker suffered a shoulder injury in City's 3-0 win over West Ham United on Tuesday night after an awkward fall and Pellegrini admitted 'we don't know what kind of pain it is'.

In other news, Sports Direct News believe Arsenal and Manchester City will battle for the signature of Real Madrid winger Ángel di María. The Argentine is reportedly unsettled at the Bernabeu and wants to seal a move away from Spain as quick as possible.

(The winger has found first team opportunities hard to clinch with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale in the squad)
