Saturday's MCFC Transfer News

Felix Magath has enlighted the Premier League with his idiosyncrasies since joining Fulham last month, and his most recent pre-match press conference saw the German boss cause a little more mischief ahead of his side's weekend fixture with Manchester City.

Speaking ahead of the tie, Magath commented on his former striker Edin Džeko and suggested that the Bosnian should join him at Fulham. Džeko established himself as one of Europe's best strikers under Magath at Wolfsburg five years ago and his former manager believes he could help Fulham escape from the relegation zone.

"Edin has a difficult situation because he's not the only striker at Manchester City,'' said Magath.

"Perhaps he should come here to Fulham and he will score much more goals than at Man City."

However, perhaps a club more likely to attract the talents of Džeko are Inter Milan, and their latest addition to the squad has reportedly urged the striker to join him in Italy.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United captain and Inter Milan bound Nemanja Vidić will attempt to convince the Manchester City forward to follow him to the San Siro this summer. Despite scoring 18 goals for the blues in all competitions this season, Džeko is still Manuel Pellegrini's third choice striker and the Bosnian may be tempted by the lure of Inter in search of first team football.

Another striker who could be on his way to Italy this summer is Stevan Jovetić, who Caught Offside believe is attracting interest from AS Roma. The Montenegrin has suffered a difficult start to life in Manchester since his £22m move last July, and four lengthy spells on the sideline through injury have limited the forward's playing time. Although Jovetić has missed out on first team football through unexpected means, reports suggest a return to Italy could make the 24-year-old feel more comfortable in his surroundings.

And in the day's final piece of transfer news, Talk Sport report that Manchester City are tracking 18-year-old Brazilian Nathan Allan de Souza. The Atletico Paranaense midfielder starred at the Under-17 World Cup in 2013 scoring 5 goals in 5 games for his country.

In other news, Manchester City winger Jesus Navas has insisted that today's game with Fulham is more important than the Manchester derby. The Manchester giants go head-to-head on Tuesday evening, but the Spaniard claims his side are only focusing on one game this weekend.

“We are not thinking about the Manchester derby, we are only focused on the Fulham game,'' Navas told the Manchester Evening News.

“This would be three very important points for us and when the game finishes then we will think about United.

“It is more difficult to play against teams that are fighting to avoid relegation because they defend very well and that playing style is the most difficult for us when they come and try to defend.

“But we did a good job last weekend at Hull and now we need to continue in the same manner against Fulham and in the games that follow.”
