Tuesday's MCFC Transfer News

Edin Dzeko - Manchester City v Stoke City - Premier League
According to Talk Sport and the Daily Mirror, Inter Milan are readying a bid for Manchester City striker Edin Džeko. The forward, who has scored seven league goals this season, has failed to nail down a regular spot in the side despite starting for the blues in their 3-1 Capital One Cup final win over Sunderland on Sunday. Although Džeko boasts a satisfactory record in front of goal, fans often question the Bosnian's work rate and desire to win the ball - and the same questions were raised once again when the final whistle sounded at Wembley Stadium last weekend. The Italian giants believe a bid of a round £15m may tempt the blues into selling.

In more heart-warming news, Fernandinho has revealed how his father was reduced to tears when he learned of his son's call up to the Brazilian national squad. The £30m midfielder, who has been instrumental in City's success so far this season, received a call from Seleção boss Luiz Felipe Scolari on February 11th and told Gazzetta the inspirational story.

(The Brazilian has already become a City favourite since moving to the club in summer)

"We Brazilians go through so many difficulties, there is a lot of poverty. My dad has always pushed me to continue. I remember when I was training as a child, I did not have the money to pay the bus fare to go to training. My dad had to go to work and there was no money for two tickets. he told me that he'd go by bike and I'd take the bus.

"This call-up is for him and my family... my dad could not speak (when told of the Brazil call-up), he cried all the time. Looking back on the many sacrifices, it's impossible to control the emotion."

Turning our attentions to the Netherlands, the Daily Mirror believe that PSV Eindhoven will attempt to secure a second loan deal for Manchester City defender Karim Rekik. The 19-year-old has been in stunning form for the Dutch side this season and manager Phillip Cocu is keen on securing his services for another year.

In Other News
In other news, Sergio Agüero has told Sky Sports News that his hamstring injury is 'fine'. The Argentine made a return from injury to start in City's cup win on Sunday, and hopes that his injury troubles are a thing of the past.

"I felt fine. It was my first game since the injury," said Aguero.

(Agüero hopes his injury troubles are behind him)

"I am happy to be back. Obviously there's always that worry when you come back that there's no reaction but it all went fine.

"In England you play a lot and we have to get used to it. Yes, there are a lot of games but we have to adapt to English football and get on with it."

And finally, six Manchester City fans were left red-faced on Sunday afternoon as they turned up to Wembley with tickets for the wrong match! The group had tickets for the league game between City and Sunderland that was scheduled for the 12th February, but was cancelled due to poor weather. Four of the supporters managed to get new tickets, but two fans were forced to watch the game from a local curry house. D'Oh!
